What a brilliant day this was!
Natasha & James explained that they were having their wedding at Appledurcombe House on the Isle of Wight. If, like me, you hadn’t heard of Appledurcombe House it is the most amazing place. An 18th Century house in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight it is owned by English Heritage though I see it is now for sale. It is remarkable – only two rooms have ceilings, the rest is roofless and exposed to the elements making for an incredibly unique wedding venue.
It’s quite a journey to the Isle of Wight from Oxford but for me that was an integral part of the wedding – experiencing the same as their wedding guests. Upon disembarking the ferry I headed for The Little Gloster close to Cowes to meet up with Natasha and the girls – a lovely spot by the sea. From the get go I was welcomed and allowed to simple get on with documenting the day – perfect.
It was a true pleasure to spend the day with Natasha & James and their families and friends. They made me feel so welcome and were the epitome of joy all day. For me as a wedding photographer it was everything I want a wedding to be – fun, relaxed, bursting with smiles and guests who allow me to do what I do.
