A Rectory Crudwell wedding – Pip & Jerry

“Many many thanks for everything! You were absolutely the right man for the job!!! What we have seen so far are brilliant – exactly what we wanted! Fun, caught in the moment. Unstaged. And you are an absolute treat too!!”

Rectory Crudwell wedding

Some people don’t understand why anyone would want to be a wedding photographer – the stress, the responsibility, the weekend working etc etc. Well this is why. At every wedding I photograph, I get to witness so much good, so much joy – the public show of commitment, family and friends, the laughs and the tears. Pip & Jerry’s Rectory Crudwell wedding had all of this and more (giant pork pie anyone?). I arrived at a pre-wedding ceremony garden party in The Rectory’s stunning gardens. Pip & Jerry, it became clear, have an amazing attention to detail, and all done with a smile and a laugh. Guests arrived and immediately got stuck into guessing the weight of the afore mentioned pork pie, and a whole host of other garden games – English summer bliss.

The service was just simply full of joy – the crucible of all that was important to Pip & Jerry. I mentioned in my previous Preview blog post for this wedding that Pip smiled all day. She did – and no more so than during the ceremony. Her face lit up from the back of the room when she saw Jerry waiting for her. It was priceless. After signing the register they proceeded to dance down the aisle – of course.

The grounds at The Rectory always provide me with great locations and backgrounds for portraits of my couples. It helped that Pip & Jerry were so natural in front of the camera – they just ignored me, which is exactly how I like it. After a drinks reception (largely consisting of hugging, kissing and, of course, smiling) guests sat down in the dining room to eat, and prizes from the garden competitions were awarded, and speeches made. I was about to head off and leave them to enjoy the evening when I spotted the most amazing sunset, so I dashed back in and asked Pip & Jerry if they would spare me just a couple of minutes for a few photos – they smiled. I smiled. We took some photos. I left. Smiling.

Pip & Jerry are why I am a wedding photographer.

Fab set man! The cake in the mirror is inspired, and I love the shot where she's touching her hat, looking like she's perhaps looking in the mirror - such a cool viewpoint!
