South Farm Wedding Photographer – Beth & Bob

I was looking forward to this wedding. When Beth & Bob first contacted me I knew that their wedding would be right up my street photographically. My first clue was the fact that they contacted me after seeing one of my images featured on the fabulous wedding blog Moment Junkie. The fact that seeing that one image was enough to consider using me for their wedding told me a lot about what they wanted from their photographer.

As an Oxford wedding photographer it is nice to venture away to new parts of the country. Their wedding took place at the beautiful South Farm in Hertfordshire – a rambling working farm with an eco slant and a great venue for a wedding. The serendipity continued when I discovered that Beth & Bob had sourced their flowers from Green & Gorgeous who I have had the pleasure to work closely with at a number of Oxfordshire weddings.

I began with a mix of bridal prep and general wedding prep photos before their beautiful humanist ceremony in the gardens of South Farm which combined some lovely self-written vows from both Beth & Bob and some beautiful readings. The ceremony was a relaxed and joyous affair. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed the sunshine and a very amusing game of Pinata. They then all moved through to the impressive barn for dinner which included some excellent speeches. During this time I managed to grab Beth & Bob and take them outside for some shots with the beautiful sunset (note my bias toward silhouettes!).

I stuck around for the dancing and was glad I did – the dance floor was packed and it resulted in some great dance shots.

It was a pleasure to be a part of Beth & Bob’s day – below are some of my favourite images.

If you are having a South Farm wedding and would like to discuss your photography please get in touch – I would love to hear from you.

  • really lovely work Tom. Favourites are the piñata ( the positioning of the person's hands makes it look as if they are wearing it), the man with the very high trousers (reminds me of my grandpa) and the lady in the flowered dress during the speeches. Couples portraits are great too.

  • Great set of images Tom, love the 2nd shot with the makeup/reflection....fantastic silhouettes too :-)

  • Beautiful images Tom. Love the reflection in the make-up shot and the couple shot through the flowers. Looks like a great day was had by all :-)
