Dia de Las Natitas (Day of the Skulls)

I went to the La Paz General Cemetery last week to take photos of the annual Natitas ceremony. Hundreds of Bolivians bring their ancestors’ skulls – which traditionally are kept at home to protect the family – to be blessed. This is an ancient ceremony which has been blended into current day Catholicism. It’s a pretty incredible sight.
