Winter wedding at The Rectory, Crudwell

A wedding at The Rectory, Crudwell, Wiltshire: I met Jamie & Melly when the Rectory held an Open Day earlier this year.  As a recommended supplier at The Rectory I was showing clients my work. Melly & Jamie were keen to have relaxed, unobtrusive documentary wedding photography of their very Christmassy wedding which suits my style perfectly. I arrived at The Rectory to be greeted to a stunning makeover courtesy of Melly – it looked amazing, so atmospheric. Outside it was cold and dark but inside it was warm, cosy and very seasonal.

Jamie & Melly had a very personal service in the conservatory, including a very seasonal sing-along, followed by drinks and amazing canapes (courtesy of the brilliant Rectory chefs). I have photographed a number of Rectory weddings this year, most during the summer, where guests spill out into the gardens for drinks. With this wedding it was really nice to see people enjoying the original and beautiful interior of the hotel buy cymbalta in uk which perhaps is sometimes taken for granted by summer guests enjoying the (occasional!) sunshine. The Rectory really is a perfect boutique winter wedding venue.

Speeches took place in the Rectory’s main reception area rather than during dinner. This was new for me and it really added to the intimate atmosphere as guests crowded round to hear some very funny and also very touching speeches.

As I left Melly said she hoped I had some nice photos as she isn’t “very photogenic”. As you will see from the photos below this is utter rubbish. Melly looked stunning, Jamie looked pretty good too and their three daughters arguably stole the show…..

It was a true pleasure to be part of such a personal wedding. This marked my last wedding of 2012 and I was again reminded of how lucky I am to do what I do.
