“Baby, we’ve come a long way baby
You know, I hope and I pray that you believe me
When I say this love will never fade away.”
As an Oxford based wedding photographer I don’t often get the opportunity to photograph many Gloucestershire Weddings though I seem to be getting more and more which is great as it is one of my favourite parts of the country. I started with Hannah and her bridesmaids for some bridal prep at the lovely Thirty Eight Hotel in Clifton before we headed over to the Holy Trinity Church in Westbury-on-Trym for the service. Hannah had managed to secure the stunning Hanham Court Gardens in Gloucestershire for the wedding reception. They don’t normally use it as a wedding venue but Hannah & Niall had fallen in love with it and managed to persuade the owners to let them use it. Whilst it was undoubtedly a disappointment that the rain arrived at the same time as the guests for the reception it was notable how it had no effect on the mood – this was a joyous occasion and a pleasure to be a part of. Hannah & Niall were completely unperturbed by the downpour. Indeed, I am often asked, when couples are discussing their forthcoming weddings with me, what will happen if it rains on their wedding day. Without trying to sound corny I tell them that it wont matter and they will have a great day with their loved ones. I say it genuinely though sometimes I wonder if the couples believe me – from now on I will be able to show them this wedding to back up my answer. Despite the rain we managed to pop out of the marquee for some portraits in the amazing gardens before the speeches and dancing – both of which were excellent with the first dance from one of my favourite singers (hence the quote above).
If you are having a Gloucestershire Wedding and would like to discuss your photography please get in touch – I would love to hear from you.
